The phrase "It couldn't happen to a nicer guy" applies in all ways to this man. Sky Renfro is a longtime friend and member of the SDPCG. Some lowlifes broke into his home and stole EVERYTHING that wasn't nailed down. They even let his poor old deaf cat out to wander the desert! Well, you know the polymer clay community, and we couldn't let this stand as it was.

So we gave him a shower!

Gail Woods took him off to tote boxes while we set it up. I believe it took about 7 minutes as we rushed around like mad, setting up tables and chairs, hanging star garlands and pretending to take a group picture for Martina Weller, our friend in Germany, who couldn't be there this year. We did take the picture for her, but it was a good excuse for why we were all sitting there in our chairs.

Sky was crowned and festooned as he sat in his throne, with Ellie Hitchcock directing. He willingly sat on the throne, but was totally confused, so we had to explain that it was all for him. The tears started to flow all around. There were ribbons, boxes and bags. Storage units, tools and powders, sparkles, clay of all brands and sizes; enough for him to open his own store! Especially touching was a silver "Home Sweet Home" sign from Heather Kenney that made us all boo-hoo and reduced Sky to jelly. The rest of us, too, for that matter. (your webmaster is tearing up just remembering)

If Sky had any doubts how we feel about him, he doesn't now. He spent the rest of Sandy Camp in a daze, the keyword being "WOW."

So, if we didn't say it before,

WE LOVE YOU SKY!
